How we collect personal information
We collect personal information in a number of ways, including directly from you via our website, telephone or email. Where practicable, we collect personal information from the individual concerned. Sometimes we collect it indirectly (for example from your insurance broker or co-insureds).
If you provide personal information about another person, you represent to us that you have authority to do so, and that you have made that person aware of the matters in this Policy (including the types of third parties we may disclose information to, the purposes of use, and how they can access it). If the information is sensitive information, we rely on you to have obtained their consent. If you have not done, or will not do, these things, you must tell us before you provide the information.

That may include insurers, reinsurers, brokers or service providers in the Asia-Pacific region, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the European Union, the United States or other regions where those parties operate. Where we disclose personal information to an overseas recipient, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that the overseas recipient does not breach the APPs in relation to that information, unless an exception under the Privacy Act applies.
How we hold and secure personal information
We hold personal information in electronic systems and, where needed, in hard copy. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information we hold from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
